You are a planeswalker. Your spark has been ignited. Deep inside of you, there is a restless feeling. There is an unquenchable thirst. The adrenaline rush you have is insatiable. You yearn for exciting adventure. You seek learning experiences. You desire the tales of marvelous escapades, of brushes with death, and of impressive triumphs. You scour the multiverse for those wildly special moments. Stories to treasure which you can share with friends, a cup of coffee in hand, over a bonfire on a clear night...or ok maybe on Facebook. You traverse the planes looking for great gaming and even greater company. You now live for these and more. And you are not alone.

So, yeah, maybe we got a tad bit carried away there. It's not so far fetched, though. In a way, it is how we get to feel about Magic and gaming in general. It is the kind of experience we want from gaming whether casual or cutthroat, 1v1 or multiplayer, and in everthing Magic. There is this surge of exhilaration every time. But as we all know, nothing can hose a night of great gaming more than our inexperience and the bad practices brought to the table.

I know that Magic: the Gathering is quite an extensive subject matter. We have to look into the rules, deck building, better practices, and the other nuances that go with the game. It simply will not fit into one article altogether. And so, I've decided to have a separate site dedicated to Magic. I know there are already a whole lot of other sites dedicated to the game. Please allow me and this column, however, to be one of your alternative guides. From one gamer to another, let us talk and share about the bits and pieces of gaming wisdom we picked up through the years. Hopefully, the things we share here could help provide maximum fun and fulfillment for our so-called lifestyle as together we discover and evolve as we traverse the planes.

If you haven't heard the news yet, the latest buzz in the Magic Community is the upcoming rules changes with the release of the Magic 2014 Core Set. The new "Legend Rule" and the new "Planeswalker Uniqueness Rule" are the most significant. There are obviously a lot of discussion already being made about this. And while I personally believe they are an overall improvement to Magic, I'd rather let you decide on your own. Of course, the major changes are already looming in the horizon however you may end up feeling about it.
